Lets face it. Its not entirely about Russia. Its about Empire. The Western-led Socio/Economic Hegemony over the entire planet has been severely weakened after the economic crash of September 16, 2008. A bloc of nations has formed to challenge the Wests dominance over the globe. This bloc is dubbed the BRICS nations (short for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). What just happened in the Ukraine, the wars with Iraq, Afghanistan and the invasion/meddling in Libya, Iran and Syria as well as operation AFRICOM are all aimed at ensuring the continuation of Western (led by the USA) Global hegemony. Some tell themselves that this is great news because were the Good guys. That we ought to support our team else be labelled traitors. That somehow our lack of support for one team means that we must therefore be supporting the other team... the bad guys... the foes. First of all if were the good guys then why is the USA hated the world over? Why do many Americans stitch Canadian Flags on their backpacks while travelling? Why is it that when someone says Americano and you reply Canadian their faces light up and they hug and dance with you and tell you they were afraid you were an American? Youve traveled... youve encountered this phenomenon. Maybe the body count has something to do with it. Tell me... how many innocent people did Superman Kill? How many did Spiderman kill? Did either systematically, aside from alternate storylines/universes, seek their own interests without giving a rats ass about the innocent people whom they slaughtered? Seems to me that it was the Villains who acted in this manner no? In all of our stories and all of our lore the Good Guys arent the ones who seek their own interests to the detriment of others. Our heroes and good people are those who were both strong and selfless. Who cared more for ideas & ideals than they did their own selfish yearnings. None of them were perfect. Each hero has had his ark moments but they never changed the ideal of the person they sought to become. To better themselves. We, the West, are not the Good Guys. Were more like the Villains and Bullies. And no matter who we seem to vote for, this doesnt change. One party talks like the Good People but upon obtaining power always ends up more of the same. The other party plays the role of the Bad People and well they do exactly what they told us theyd do and its usually horrible. So why would anyone side with the Bad Guys? Why do we hero worship virtues that were not willing to fight for ourselves? Who knows.
