Lets just get one thing perfectly clear. I am not a trendy vegan hipster living in the city that hates farmers just for being mean to animals, nor do I need to be educated on the plight of the poor animal farmer because I just dont understand their situation. I hate ALL of the animal exploitation industries! There, I said it! Why do I hate them? Because I used to work in most of them. My resume goes all the way back to High School til the present and goes something like this: FFA member, dairy judging team, cattle exhibition, sheep exhibition, horse showing, rodeo, gymkhana, dressage, castration, de-horning, AI-ing, tail docking, animal shelter tech & death nurse, veterinary tech, emergency/critical care vet tech, beef cattle breeding, mustering, stock work, jobs involved in animal slaughter, live export trade, thoroughbred horse racing industry as well as the pharmaceutical sales industry. I hate these industries the same way an ex-smoker hates cigarettes (maybe more) Something I once thought was quite normal & acceptable I now find deplorable. I have seen the filthy lies and the grubby reality of what really goes on in these industries and I finally woke up to see it all for what it really is. I only hold strong opinions about things I have a solid knowledge and understanding of or experiences that have affected me deeply. I have every right to voice my strong opinion about these industries because I know them quite intimately. I hold these strong opinions because I have realised over the years that it has ALL been a lie. Dont let anybody fool you into believing that we need animal products, animal farmers or loads of medications to lead a healthy and fit life. I did not go vegan to be trendy or cool, I went vegan for the animals because I stopped ignoring that part of my conscience that kept telling me it was wrong to harm animals. I will be vegan for life and I will continue to speak up for the animals. That is all.
