Lets talk about love. Do you believe there is such a thing as The One? I dont. Convincing yourself otherwise requires some deluded thinking in my opinion. Before you tell me what a silly man I am, hear me out... There are certainly cases where two people are so compatible that they end up spending the rest of their lives together, but it only takes a quick glance at divorce statistics to understand how rare that is. Here is a more realistic way of looking at relationships. Every person who you love isnt meant to be by your side until the day you die. Most of them will only play a central role in the story of your life for a few chapters. Dont let this upset you. Why waste your time being sad about the (potentially) temporary nature of a relationship that gives you great joy while it lasts? Or, as Dr. Seuss said, Dont cry because its over. Smile because it happened. What do you think?
