Life Lessons at Lunch: My sister and I went out to lunch today. - TopicsExpress

Life Lessons at Lunch: My sister and I went out to lunch today. As we were walking in a gentleman approached us and said, I dont have a job and Im hungry. It was a little abrupt and forceful, but nonetheless, my sister bought him a cheeseburger. As we were exiting she went to hand it to him and he said, No thanks, Im not hungry anymore. Obviously he wasnt stating his true desire, which was to have some cold hard cash to do what he wanted. Is it just me or does there seem to be more homeless people in San Jose as of late? The people that I have encountered have a sense of entitlement when asking for help. It makes it hard sometimes to determine if they really need help or not. When it comes down to it, it really doesnt matter what I think. Its not my place to judge. What I am told is, For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Then these righteous ones will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you? And the King will say, I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me! Good reminder for today...
