Life is always interesting. Im writing this after just returning from visiting a friend who is about to move out of town. The conversation we had touched upon subjects discussed here, recent socio-political events and such. It made me realize that although Ive been putting on a brave face Ive been depressed underneath. The reason I bring this up is the drive home brought on this big wave of nostalgia and warmth. Ive lived in my home now more than anywhere else in my life. We moved a lot when I was growing up. Ive lived here (my current house, which I own) over 25 years and the feeling while driving home just hit me like a wave of memories. Remembering coming home from the airport after being away for a whole summer in Japan in 1994. Remembering the ride home from the airport after the European tour with Son Ambulance. So many times travelling down the same street from so many experiences, how sweet it was to be going home. In the wake of recognizing how recent events have been so shitty it is such a relief to feel like I do at the moment. Just thankful to be at home.
