Life is really crummy sometimes. You give a company 8 years, think it would generate some loyalty in exchange for your years of service. I know I have worked hard, and I am one of the best agents in our Salt Lake City office. One pissed off customer with a vindictive personal vendetta and you get thrown under the bus by the very company you expect to support you and stand behind you. Organizations preoccupied with short-term, bottom line thinking often view their employees as little more than resources to be hired, fired, and manipulated as the need arises. Workers are naturally less happy on the job when they sense little or no loyalty from their employer. Sorry, but I believe in following protocol and procedure, and I have a problem giving people things because they feel entitled or that is deserved. Call it integrity or standing up for what is right, but I believe that if you are asking for exceptions or considerations, then there should be some valid reason or cause. This is what is screwed up with the world today. The entitled generation. I tell you, it is no wonder there is a staffing shortage in my area. They can’t beg, steal, or borrow anyone else dumb enough to transfer over. It is also the reason they wont let me transfer out. So ready to graduate and start over in a new career. I am just so glad for my wife, if it wasn’t for her, there would be very little joy in this insufferable cesspool I call my life.
