LifeRaft LIVESTREAM Safety on Set Tuesday, June - TopicsExpress

LifeRaft LIVESTREAM Safety on Set Tuesday, June 3 7 PM ET / 4 PM PT There are countless occupational health and safety hazards found on sets ranging from elaborate stunts to special effects to chemical exposure to extreme weather and temperatures. This panel discussion seeks to educate performers about on-set safety, and will explore the following topics: *How to address safety concerns *The role of SAG-AFTRA Field Reps *What to do if an injury has been sustained *Stunts and the right to request a stunt double *Environmental concerns, special effects products, and the right to request testing *Understanding safety bulletins, safety support teams, and medic on the set It is common for performers to fear that addressing safety concerns will alienate them from others, rupture relationships, stall production, or negatively affect their future opportunities. As a result, many performers stifle their concerns. Unfortunately, the consequences of silence can be severe, resulting in long-term, career-ending injuries or fatalities. Emboldened with the knowledge of their rights, performers should feel confident in speaking up if their safety is being threatened. Panelists: Monona Rossol (President/Founder; Arts, Crafts & Theater Safety, Inc) John Ford (President of IA Local 52, IATC) Jim Damis (Director of National Field Services, SAG-AFTRA) Tim Gallin (Stunt Coordinator,“The Following”) Adam Moore (National Director, EEO/Diversity, SAG-AFTRA) - Moderator To watch the panel discussion live go to: sagfoundation.org/livestream To watch the Q&A you DO NOT have to log into our website.
