Linkmaster2003s only other surviving post, circa early october 2014. He was a legend. I really dont get the point of wavedashing. It seems kind of stupid to me. Like, everyone Ive ever asked has said its useful for repositioning, but rolls are way better because youre invincible. Not only that, but if you just wavedash the entire match, its so slow. The only character its even good on is probably Mewtwo because Mewtwo is a very slow character if you just try to run everywhere (but its not a problem if you just roll towards the opponent, because not only do you cover distance, but youve invincible, that and Mewtwo has one of the fastest rolls in the game). Not only that, but when you wavedash off of platforms like in Onett or Temple, you fall and youre vulnerable. Thats dumb. The only thing I see particularly useful about wavedashing is when youre trying to race an opponent to a pokeball and instead of stopping in place to pick it up you can wavedash over it. People think Im a bad player because I dont wavedash, but Im really good at Melee and beat my friends all the time. I play Link and can lock down any Fox or Falco with my bombs, arrows, and boomerangs. Im really good at hitting players with Links up charge attack and up b attack. My friends are also really really good, but they can never beat me because Im so good, I even won a tournament at my school once and got $20 for winning. I just dont get why people say you have to wavedash to be good at melee. Thats stupid because youre not even playing melee the way youre supposed to. People say they left it in the game so its okay to use but when Nintendo made melee they said wavedashing was a glitch and Id be disqualified from any tournament I tried to turn into Master Hand at (check out my youtube for a tutorial on how to turn into Master Hand) so that doesnt really check out, the mentality of they left it in the game so its okay to use. People who wavedash all the time probably try way to hard at this game, like, dont your fingers hurt after a while? I bet people who wavedash are probably the same people who just pick Falco and just C stick spam all game long.So really, what is the point of wavedashing? Can anyone tell me? You dont go much faster and it can leave you vulnerable to enemy attacks. What can I do while wavedashing that I cant already do? Apparently you can wavedash out of shield, but you can also roll out of shield and thats faster and less complicated. Platform movement? What does that even mean? You can drop through platforms, jump to platforms, roll to either side...... Its really pointless. Does anyone know?
