Listening to a message today...was agreeing with a lot of stuff...then this was slipped in...We have this going on in the church...I feel in my spirit. I have a witness. Put your witness to sleep. Thats why God gave you a father. Thats why He gave you a pastor. I dont care what God is leading you to do. If your Pastor doesnt approve of it, you cant go. I feel led. No, you feel like sitting down. Well, Pastor, I think youre wrong. The devil is a liar. God has never told you to check your Pastor. God has never given you permission to correct the man of God. The person continued to describe a person expressing concerns and disagreements with their pastor and finished by calling such a person a dumb sheep who knows nothing...and what story does such a minister love to use to validate such a message? David and Saul. Once again, I must remind some that being a pastor or any church leader is NOT equal to being a king or Lord over a nation. There is plenty of scripture in the Bible that supports others in the church correcting and rebuking church leaders...of course, it needs to be in the right way and the right spirit. Let us also not forget that God has also appointed prophets, apostles, evangelists and teachers to help lead and nurture the church. Wasnt David himself rebuked by Nathan the prophet...and Saul rebuked by Samuel (if on wants to use the). For some reason, I dont see Christ Himself or the apostles walking in a spirit described by the minister I heard preaching. Did it have some applications to the rebellious? Maybe to some extent, but not absolutely as this minister describes. This message feeds leaders walking in a controlling spirit, insecure, victimized...building their own little kingdom and notoriety. So much more could be said.
