Loss of oxygen equals death. The restriction of your airway creates a drop in the oxygen level in your blood. Oxygen saturation levels in your blood should be at least near 100% anything less for an extended period of time and you are slowly dying. This is why people with emphysema have to get oxygen tanks to keep their oxygen level up in the blood. The officer perform an illegal chokehold restricting his airway, cutting off his oxygen. Your airway does not have to be completely closed for you to die from a chokehold especially as an asthmatic. All this probably brought on an asthma attack. Someone told me if he could not breathe he wouldnt be able to say it. This isnt true since I have allergic asthma and my kids had asthma growing up. You can speak and still be dying. I dont even see them trying to give CPR or check airway except put him on his side. He could have vomited and aspirated and they never checked inside his mouth. What is the first aid procedures set up for officers? Brain death is quick when oxygen is deprived, to the brain just look at strokes patients.
