Lot to read, but EXACTLY what I needed to be reminded of; God doesnt have to give me the opportunity to share in His story. Mark 10:42-44 Leadership isn’t about bossing people around and telling people what to do. Leadership is about stepping into a place that you are passionate about and sharing that vision with others. True leaders care about the people they’re leading and are concerned about their well-being. Great leaders will go through great lengths for the sake of their people. Titus 1:5-9 Living out the calling God placed in your life isn’t just about doing stuff. It’s also about living a certain way. If you’re going to be a leader, people will be watching the way you live your life. Don’t just be an example by the things you do, be an example by the way you live. That will have a greater impact than you know. This passage lists what makes up a leader. Focus on that list. How well does it describe you? What things on that list do you need to work on? When you get those down, you’ll be in good standing with others. When the other ten heard of this conversation, they lost their tempers with James and John. Jesus got them together to settle things down. “You’ve observed how godless rulers throw their weight around,” he said, “and when people get a little power how quickly it goes to their heads. It’s not going to be that way with you. Whoever wants to be great must become a servant. Whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. That is what the Son of Man has done: He came to serve, not to be served—and then to give away his life in exchange for many who are held hostage.” (Mark 10:41-45 MSG) I left you in charge in Crete so you could complete what I left half-done. Appoint leaders in every town according to my instructions. As you select them, ask, “Is this man well-thought-of? Is he committed to his wife? Are his children believers? Do they respect him and stay out of trouble?” It’s important that a church leader, responsible for the affairs in God’s house, be looked up to—not pushy, not short-tempered, not a drunk, not a bully, not money-hungry. He must welcome people, be helpful, wise, fair, reverent, have a good grip on himself, and have a good grip on the Message, knowing how to use the truth to either spur people on in knowledge or stop them in their tracks if they oppose it. (Titus 1:5-9 MSG)
