Lots of people have been asking me what I think about the Halloween letter some wanker wrote to give to kids that she thought were chubby instead of candy. If you havent read it you can google it because nearly every blogger on Earth and a few on Mars have written blogs about it. Lots of bloggers love to write rants about topical stuff, but I normally dont. Why? Im a lazy a-hole, and if a million other people are doing it then why the frick would I want to do it when I can just write about a canoe full of taxidermied animal instead? BUT since so many of you are emailing me about it let me just say this: Aside from one amazing Halloween when I was 5 and went as Holly Hobbie, I wasnt allowed to go anymore. My mom was in a really churchy phase for awhile and she was one of those people that put a note up on our door that basically said All you heathens are going to hell. Get the frick offa my porch! Not in those exact words, but close enough. So people would come up to our door, read it, then laugh and say mean things, and we would go down in history as the house of losers. So basically I dont have much to say about letters and Halloween because shit happens, you learn to deal, you build character, and you move on. People do cruel things and learning how to deal with that is part of life. And learning not to care what a stranger thinks of you is important. So although it sucks, if you try hard enough you can take nearly ANYTHING and make it into a positive life lesson: Sometimes people suck, but what they think about you doesnt mean shit.
