MANCHESTER REMEMBERS- WW1 event week at Manchester Central Library w/c 3 November. There will be many commemorative events happening. MLFHS have the following events on offer - These are FREE. Booking required for the the workshops. TALK with speaker John Marsden ‘For the Duration of the War’ Thursday 6th November 6pm -7pm Performance Space at Central Library Are you planning to research a World War 1 soldier ancestor? If so, this introductory talk will set you off on the right track. Learn about the basic on-line and off-line sources where you can find information about individual soldiers and about the information which you might expect to find. This illustrated talk will be given by John Marsden, the Chairman of Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society and will be held in the Performance Space on the ground floor of Central Library and is bookable through Eventbrite. PRACTICAL WORKSHOP for Tracing your WW1 ancestors Do you have an ancestor who served in World War 1? Would you like to learn the practical steps in order to trace them? MLFHS is providing the opportunity to attend a hands on computer workshop with expert guidance to enable you to search for your WW1 ancestor. Please bring along the name (and any other information you may have) of a WW1 ancestor you wish to research. Booking is required and can be done through Eventbrite. This is a FREE workshop.
