MEET Beky Sue one of The Yard Party models. We asked.. Q: What is your ethic background? A:My ethic background isnt too different too a lot of Aussies whos grandparents moved here after the war. My grandfather is English/French and my Grandmother also half English. They started a family here in Oz and the rest is history! Q: Does Australia Day Celebration truly reflect the culturally diverse nation we have? A: I dont believe Australia day completely reflects our Multiculturalism. It certainly is improving, and I feel that Australians that would once be against the integration of other cultures into our society, are starting to open their perspectives, and realise that we are all one, and can live together harmoniously. However, I feel deeply that, our approach and understanding of the Aboriginal issues we face are a mockery. As a society, and a government, we still refuse to acknowledge our original Australian heritage, and ignore the fact, that we keep sweeping this under the mat. Australia Day (and everyday for that matter) should encompass all Australians and we should all try our best to understand and accept that we all live on this planet together.
