METHODS OF INCREASING SUSTENANCE HALAL WAY : #Part 2 3) Silat-ur-rahem (Observing bonds of kinshipi.e family): Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allaahs Apostle ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ saying, Whoever is pleased that he be granted more wealth and that his lease (span) of life be prolonged, then he should keep good relations with his kin. [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, Kitab al-Adab, Hadith 14 & 15 , 5985and Sahih Muslim] Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet :saws: said: “Learn enough of your lineage, so that you can establish the ties of kinship, for establish the ties of kinship increases the love amongst families and multiplies wealth and extends age” [Shaykh Al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Al-Tirmidhi (2/190)] Abu Bakrah reported the Messenger Of Allaah ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ as saying: “There is no wrong action which Allaah is swifter to punish in this world – in addition to the punishment which He has stored up for the wrongdoer in the Next World – than oppression and cutting off ties of kinship. [The swiftest of good deeds in retribution is the (act of) fulfilling the ties of kinship. So much so, that it is possible that a family can be evil, but their money and their numbers will increase if they fulfill the ties of kinship.]” [Sahih Ibn Hibban 440. Part of the Hadith is narrated by Abu Dawood 4902, Ibn Majah 4211, Tirmidhi 2511, Adab Al Mufrad of Imam al-Bukhari, and Tabarani and authenticated by Shaikh Al-Albani in as-Saheehah 918. The second part was also authenticated by Shaikh al- Albaanee in Saheeh al-Jaami` 5705] Note : Severing the ties of Family no matter what is a very deadly and grievous sin. See this link for details and proofs : 4) SADAQAH (Charity): {And whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allaah’s cause), He will replace it. And He is the best of providers.} [Surah as-Saba’ (34): 39] {Shaytaan (Satan) threatens you with poverty and orders you to commit lewdness; whereas Allaah promises you Forgiveness from Himself and Bounty, and Allaah is All-sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.} [Surah al- Baqarah (2): 268] Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﺻﻠﻰ ﺍﻟﻠﻪ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ ﻭﺳﻠﻢ said, Every day two angels come down from Heaven and one of them says, O Allaah! Compensate every person who spends in Your cause, and the other (angel) says, O Allaah! Destroy every miser. [Sahih Al- Bukhari, Vol. 2, Kitab az-Zakat, Hadith 522 and Sahih Muslim] You gain no victory or livelihood except through (the blessings and invocations of) the poor amongst you. [Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, Kitab al-Jihad, Hadith 145 and Sunan Nasa’i] Say: Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allâhs Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers. [Surah Saba, Verse 39] Abu Hurayrah said that the Prophet :saws: said: “ Allah has said: ‘O Son of Adam! Spend I will spend on you!” [Sahih Muslim (2/690)] The Prophet :saws: said, “The only reason that you are aided in vicory (against your enemies) and provided with sustainance due to your weak?” [Al-Bukahri (14/179)] The Prophet :saws: said, “While a person was in an open area of land, he heard voice in a cloud above him say. “water the garden of so-and-so!” So the cloud immediately departed, and started pouring its rain out on a rocky plain. A large crevice in the rocks collected all of this water. So the man followed the water (in its course), and he found a man standing in his garden, using an instrument to direct this water in different directions *(to irrigate his garden). He said to him, ‘O servant of Allah! What is your name?’ The man said ‘So-an-so,’ the same name that he had heard in the clouds! Then the man asked him, ‘O servant of Allah! Why are you asking me my name?’ So he responded. ‘I heard a voice in the clouds- the same clouds that this water came from o- saying, “water the garden of so-and-so” with your name. What do you interpret this as (i.e. why do you think this happened )?’ So he said, ‘If you say this (i.e. if what you say occurred), then (the reason for this is that) I see what (crops) come out of it (this graden), and I give one third in charity, and I eat wth my family one third of it, and I return one third of it (to cultivate more crops)”” and in another narration, it is reported that he said, …and I give one third of it to the poor, and the beggars, and the wayfarers.’ [Muslim (4/2288)]
