MISSING CHILD FOUND MISSING CHILD FOUND!!! From the 68 Pct Daniel Ghabra, (the missing boy we reported to you last night) was found safe and sound in a Rite Aid store in Sheepshead Bay, and was reunited with his family. The extensive nine hour search was a true representation of how police and community working together can achieve amazing things. Within minutes of the information about his disappearance being released by the 68th Precinct, thousands of people received emails with his picture and his description. In addition to our system’s notification, Helen Klein, Editor of the Home Reporter, sent out emails to her vast list and put his information on their website. Josephine Beckmann, District Manager of Community Board 10 also sent out notifications, as did our elected officials and various others. Many of these emails were forwarded to other groups and individuals and numerous people posted the information to their Facebook accounts. Aside from all of the electronic communications, many groups such as Shomrim and the Brooklyn Asian C.O.P lead by Louie Liu had people out on the streets aggressively searching for Daniel. The NYPD flocked the streets with officers. The Crime Stopper van was driving though streets with a recording of Daniel’s mother’s voice asking him to come home. At the same time the NYPD’s Canine, Harbor, Detective and Aviation units were all out vigorously searching for him. Literally hundreds of people, both civilians and police officers, joined together from their homes and in the street to find this missing child. Whether you forwarded an email, put information on your Facebook account, went out searching or sent encouraging messages to those searching – you helped. So thank you! Working together allowed this story to have the happiest of endings!
