MLK witnessed the New Deal as a child under FDR, that maybe made this small comment in 1965 commencement speech at Antioch College which was the alma mater for his wife Coretta Scott King. As a Noble Peace Prize winner, he took on a more worldly view of current world problems circa 1965 that are relevant today. Poverty and homelessness exists in India as well as in America -- our two largest Democracies. Many people go to bed homeless and hungry around the world. ( TODAY, 2.5 American Children are homeless and about 9 million American Children are going to bed hungry!) He pointed out that JOBS are becoming scarce with automation and jobs should be provided in this high tech economy of 1965. He also said that the government should once agin provide job and career training and employ her people in public works projects to abolish poverty. MLK said the government should help the people and provide job training and employment with public works projects. Question: Did he make a HINT for the re-establishment of the CCC and the WPA?
