MOGA MANFAAT !!! Exceed – Excellence Center for Development Cooperation - Sustainable Water Management in Developing Countries - Call for Application Within the scope of the Exceed project an International Guest Chair Team will be established in the summer term 2014 at the Instituteof Social Sciences, TU Braunschweig. The research project will be chaired by the Guest Professor from México, Prof. Cecilia Lezama. The scholarships for guest chair team members as well as the research work will start as soon as possible and end December 31, 2014. The research work will be conducted according to the following topic: “Water in Megacities: Hydraulic Perspectives in Public and Urban Development Policies” The team members are asked to publish their research outcomes under the supervision of the Guest Chair Professor and jointly submit their papers with her to peer-reviewed international journals. After having returned to their home institutions the team members will continue working jointly with each other and the Guest Chair Professor in order to sustain the cooperation within the Exceed network. The specific topics for submitting a proposal are: Sustainable cities: strategies for water supply Local political conflicts for water Environmental conflicts and social movements NGO´s related to water Social perception of water quality Risk construction in urban development projects Prospective Master and Doctoral students from the Exceed partner institutions are asked to write a research proposal meeting the predefined research topic of the guest professor. Please note that the research proposal is not a proposal for a master or doctoral thesis. The research work is intended to enhance potential master or doctoral theses conducted at the respective home university. The research proposal should clearly give an insight into the study, objectives and scope of the work, methodology to be followed, activities to be undertaken and the outcomes expected including a brief outlook on further activities after the return to the home institutions. The responsible supervisor at the home institutions will co-advise and guide all the activities together with the Guest Chair Professor. The research proposal is limited to five pages A4 or US Letter format and has to be submitted together with the approval and review of the supervisor at the home university. The deadline for the application is April 15, 2014.
