MY FAVOURITE THINGS.... With all the chat about mallets and the beautiful lignum vitae...I thought tonights favourite things should be my take on various combinations I made over the years. From a huge bludgeoner used to make oak framed buildings...through medium sized ones used in fine cabinet making to a tiny one I made especially for adjusting Little Isaac...my treasured infill chariot. Lignum vitae is all sourced from recycled English Lawn Bowling balls...found cheaply at bootfairs...the handles are from spalted and wych elm...destroyed in the Great Hurricane of 87. Each has its own leather sack...handmade from offcuts of Racing Green hide from making luxury British sports cars. All turning was done on Taylor....my 100 year old Taylor of Hulme - Manchester lathe...the factory being destoyed by Nazi bombs in WWII. Cheers JIM
