MYTH: Employees cant take carers leave if someone is in the hospital, because the hospital is providing care. FACT: False. Employees can take carers leave to care for or support a member of their immediate family or household whos sick, injured, or had an unexpected emergency. It doesnt matter whether a family or household member is being cared for in a hospital, the employee is still able to take carer’s leave to provide support or additional care.
