Man injured following possible aggravated break-in - Wellington Saturday, 27 Dec Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was discovered injured inside his home at Wellington yesterday. About 8.15am (Friday 26 December 2014), police located a 47-year-old man on the floor of his home in Parkes Street, following reports of a man running from the house carrying a whipper snipper. Ambulance Paramedics were called and attended to the man who was unresponsive and had a deep laceration to his head. The man was initially taken to Wellington Base Hospital and then to Orange Base Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition. Investigators attached to Orana Local Area Command attended and have launched an investigation into the incident. A crime scene was established and the home examined by specialist forensic officers. Detectives are continuing to make inquiries and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Wellington Police Station on 02 6840 2099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
