Managers have aides, assistants, subordinates and staff while Leaders have followers and supporters. Managers create circles of power while Leaders create circles of inspiration, stimulus, encouragement, and guidance. Mangers are controlling while Leaders delegate the power to make decisions knowing you cannot give someone responsibility if they do not have the power to make decisions. Dentistry needs more leaders who can think beyond the small problems at hand and create a vision that inspires the entire dental office team to convert problems into opportunities.
