Many of our friends and family have been there along with us, so supportive as my dad, Bob, has defied the odds and battled back to good health from major illness the past couple of years. Well, tonight he needs your prayers again. What we were hoping might be a minor surgery today turned into a much more extensive surgery planned for tomorrow; today the surgeon just took a peek into Dads abdomen and realized immediately that there is another round of colon cancer to contend with. The surgeon is preparing for any scenario from A to Z, but we are so hopeful that the cancer can all be excised surgically without involving any major organs; right now we have no idea at all. Dad is a much healthier patient going into surgery this time, overall, and his spirit is good, with his humor on full display. I know this has to be a tremendous worry for him, and it makes me admire him so much that he works to set everyone else at ease about it; what tremendous character that takes. If you are a praying person, please include my sweet parents in your prayers the next few days. This will be a difficult recovery even in the best case scenario. I will post updates on facebook as we get them, but we dont know what time of day they will take him-- hopefully before noon. I cant say too much about him because this time he is on facebook, too! Thank you for all the love and support, prayers and good thoughts. Hopefully tomorrow will bring better news.
