Many of you have asked me to post my monologue about Robin - TopicsExpress

Many of you have asked me to post my monologue about Robin Williams on todays show. Thanks for the interest. In the meantime, let us consider our legacy. If laughter is healing, why was Robin Williams so sick? What was the fix he so desperately needed that no one who loved him, no one who worked closely with him … no one, that I know of, at least, offered to this man? I, for one, would love to know whether he ever had the opportunity to reject Jesus … or whether no one bothered to share the healing power of God with him. I wonder if his circle of friends and acquaintances, the family members really cared about Robin’s soul … or was it merely enough that he made people laugh. Were they satisfied that he kept the money rolling in for their livelihoods, that he got gigs, and movies, and continued to be a legend in his own time? If it was common knowledge that his depression was an ongoing event … why did someone NOT intervene with JESUS as his answer? Now … Robin Williams is gone. And what a legacy he has left behind! Since the discovery of his suicide – taking his own life because living was too difficult – all you have heard is how great Robin Williams was and how he made the world laugh, and he was and he did. One report said, The Los Angeles Laugh Factory, where he inspired countless other comedians, issued their own tribute to the Oscar winning actor and entertainer by changing their banner to read Robin Williams Rest in Peace. Make God Laugh.” Really? Do you think Robin Williams was laughing when he put that noose around his neck? Do you think he thought for one second, “Well, I’m going to leave the world something to really laugh about”? Do you think God found humor in that? How sad. How tragic. Of all the great things Robin Williams accomplished in his life … THIS is what he will leave behind: millions of dollars, hundreds of clips of comedy gigs, movies, TV series, interviews, and spotlighted events, some Emmys, Oscars, Golden Globes, and countless other outstanding awards. But Robin Williams also leaves a memory. A legacy of defeat. A legacy of giving up on life. I find it heart-breaking that a man who had everything in life … never lived to love it.
