Many of you might know I received this book at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tepeyac Hill. On Sunday the 23 of March. This day started by me sleeping in for an hour longer then my other prayer group members. They had gone to Mass with our Spiritual Director Fr. Freddy for our pilgrimage. So this morning 15+ members decided to go to the pyramids in Mexico, and the rest of us 6 wanted to spend our last day of our trip with Our Lady on Tepeyac Hill the apparition site of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego, the Place of the Miracle of Roses too place. I was the only individual out of the 6 who went to the basilica for Sunday Mass, the others went ahead of me and at some point I would see them on the grounds of the basilica to met up again. When we arrived I forgot Sunday Mass in Mexico at the Shrine was packed, full of People, I heard that the newer basilica holds 30,000 people and when we made our way through the crowd, I felt like an ant. I went to Mass by myself and there was standing room left. Families everywhere, Children with their Moms and Dads, Little Babies in the arms of their parents. People from, I am sure from all over the world, where visiting Our Lady. Mass was very long over an hour, it just seemed that way. So as soon as mass was over, I headed up to the Chapel on the Hill. As I approached I bought a jamica a cold drink at a shop at the lower level below the chapel because it was a very hot day. Thinking to myself I would like to buy a souvenir key chain, so I searched I didnt find one there. Then a climbed the final steps to the chapel and I notice a lady at an door opening next to the chapel entrance. She was just selling a handful of religious items, not much, but I noticed a cross key chain that I liked. so I bought it. At this time the lady was still talking to me in Spanish and I could only understand the word Mother and she would point up and I thought she was talking about Our Lady. I would nod as if I knew what she was talking about. Then a man approached me from the right and began interpreting what the lady was trying to convey to me. Then He says to me She would like for you stay here for She has somethings for You. so I waited with the man at my side. Then she come through the back of a small cell like area with a pile of Books. The first one I had seen was a “ Book Practicing the Presence of God” by Brother Lawrence,. This book I read before I became a Catholic in 1992. At that moment of seeing this book I reflected on my baptism to the present moment at that time I felt a sense of the circle of life. There where other books about twelve in all. In the pile of books there are two small books on Padre Pio. As she was handing me the books I saw the Book on Garabandal. I could not believe what I was receiving, a book on Garabandal in Mexico at our Lady’s Shrine. Out of millions of people I was to receive this book. Then I began to cry, I had my camera with photos of my travels to Garabandal of the last two years, then I showed them to her. Then I gave her (Dolores Maldonado) a Kissed Relic of Our Lady. Then she gestured me to go up I was a little confused but trusted in faith in where she wanted and guilded me to go. For some reason I felt as if she thought I was a Priest. So I made my way through a small hall way that lead up to a stair way, a very narrow passage that lead up to the second floor. Arriving at the top of the stairs to the second floor, to my amazement I was standing in a waiting room of a Convent. I had a sense of a nun would eventually greet me. I placed my things down, my backpack, drinks the armful of books I just received. Then a nun appeared behind the cloister gated opening. She said Hi in English then I said “Hi“, then she said hello, “what are you doing here“? I replied I don’t know the lady downstairs gave these books and tells me to come up here. A pause for a few seconds then I began to tell the Sister I was on a pilgrimage with a large group and majority of them are visiting the pyramids and only six of us are here at the basilica to spend our last day with Our Lady. Then I began to tell her I was praying for my vocation during my visit and that I had enter the Benedictines Monastery ( St. Andrew Abbey of Vallyermo Ca.) in 2007 and left Eight months later in 2008. She ( Sister Leticia Maria De Jesus Sacerdote) replied “I have the same Story” She shared her Vocation story of leaving and returning 13 years later and had been back for the past 3 year and had not used her English since my time with her. Sister shared the Call of God in a Religious Vocation and we talked for over an hour , I didn’t time or see the time when I arrived or when we finished our talk. But when we did finished she said to go give thanks to Our Lady for all that I have received. At the Chapel or the Basilica where my thoughts. Many people who visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, do not know there is a Carmelite Convent that surrounds the Chapel of Tepeyac. What a gift Our Lady gave me this day and many other miracles occurred during this pilgrimage. Our Guadalupe Piligramage lasted from Thursday to a Monday of March. This Is My Story, a Miracle of Our Lady of Garabandal and how she greeted me at Her Shrine in Mexico. Take Care Johnny Lopez
