Many of you will know we have our remaining old lady Korat, Pusscat, who is 18. When her pal Monty passed away, she was very stressed and we had fur pulling, refusing to eat and calling almost non stop. Gradually, with the help of our vet, Zylkene, Tonic a tabby tom kitten and lots of love shes got better. Lately shes developed problems with her back legs, stumbling when jumping down from chairs and falling when trying to get on them. A trip to the vet, gave her a clean bill of health. Shes good for her age. But it has bbeen suggested she could have a combination arthritis and some sort of blood clot in her hip region. Thankfully clots dont do damage to cats like they do to us and can travel without causing problems. However, about a week ago she started twitching and attacking her sides, pulling aggressively at her fur. She Ill not let you touch her during these episodes and has even hissed if we try to soothe her when shes having one. Thats somethings has never done to us in the 14 years e have had her. Vet check, no fleas, no irritation or other skin problems. Any one got any ideas? We give her metacalm in case it is pain, but she still twists and pulls. Sorry for the long post. This our baby bless her.
