Many years ago, when Fela Anikulapo Kuti of blessed memories - TopicsExpress

Many years ago, when Fela Anikulapo Kuti of blessed memories defined Democracy as Demonstration of Craze, most Nigerians never took him serious. Today we can see democracy in action, as politicians destroy and loot the nation to the detriment of the common man. The poor are getting poorer and the rich getting richer. The way and manner politicians formulate anti-people policies in this country, beats my imagination. A Governor wakes up in the morning, gives order that the only source of livelihood of the poor masses be destroyed, the next thing you see his agents rushing to implement such satanic directives. The Delta state govt decided to destroy stores, caravans, not that she is planning to do something to better the lot of the people, like constructing roads, drainage walkways, street lights etc. what is the role of Advisers in every govt, is it just to collect salaries and allowances and to belong to the system? From 1999 to present day, the commonest gift most politicians have given to their supporters is okada. Today, these same politicians have turned against the same people they claimed to have empowered through the donation of okada, banning and unbanning the use of okada as a means of transportation. First, it was Gov Fashola of Lagos state, followed by Oshiomhole of Edo state who came to power through the support of okada riders. Now Gov Emmanuel Uduaghan has joined the league of okada hbanning governors. What an achievement? When Fashola demolished stores he built roads and bridges, when Oshiomhole demolished stores at 5 junction and airport roads, he built roads, walkways, drainages etc. Bros Emma, came to Sapele to increase the hardship already experienced by the very loyal, God fearing and committed people of the town. I have been a member of the PDP since 1999, we have never had it so bad. Today one can not approach the electorate to solicit their support for the party, because Sapele can best be described as an abandoned project. As for my brother and Commissioner for Transport Hon. Ben Igbakpa, your approach to this okada ban lacks human face. You are aware that Sapele lack good roads for keke to operate, you also couldnt get govt to provide an alternative means of transportation within town before embarking on this ban of okada. As commissioner, your duty is to advise mr Gov. If the use of okada as a means of transportation is bad, then let the law cut across the state and stop this selective punishment of the electorates. There is pain and tears in so many homes today because of govt actions. Please do have a rethink.
