Marquita, Militia and Meals Unfortunately, Ebola on Marquita - TopicsExpress

Marquita, Militia and Meals Unfortunately, Ebola on Marquita Ave. in Dallas could negatively impact commerce along the nearby, popular Greenville Ave. restaurant district. And, there is another danger: It could usher in unconstitutional actions by local law enforcement officers who fail to uphold their Oath and just follow orders from the so-called higher ups. Of course, such tramplings of our God-given rights are always done in the interests of safety and for our own good. Wink, wink. We the People, through the states, created the federal government and delegated to it powers which are few and defined. James Madison named them in The Federalist No. 45 and wrote that they will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation, and foreign commerce. The Preamble to our Constitution states: We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. Article I Section 8 of the Constitution makes it clear that Congress is responsible for executing the laws of the union (including immigration laws), suppressing insurrections and repelling invasions through calling forth the militia. Who is the militia? Is it government? No, it is the whole body of the people, armed. Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive. --Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution (Philadelphia 1787). So, go about life, and keep buying arms and food and preparing meals. But, know that you and I are the Militia and We are ultimately responsible for securing the blessings of Liberty so We can pass them along to the next generation intact. Thomas Jefferson warned us that if we expect to be ignorant and free, then we expect what never was and never will be. My fellow Texan Patriots, it is time you ask and answer the question: What do I expect?
