Mas claro que esto no canta un gallo: UN Conference: "Acknowledgement of The Slave Trade and Slavery as Crime against Humanity: Review and Prospects" In this year 2011 proclaimed by the United Nations as International Year for People of African Descent, civil society organizations join UNESCO Slave Route project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Taubira Law and the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, recognizing that "slavery and the slave trade are a crime against humanity." This space for reflection and debate aims to follow up the implementation of the Durban Declaration and to encourage member States to recognize this crime against humanity by integrating it into their regional and national legislation. As side event to this conference, two exhibitions, "The soul of the slaves" by the Togolese painter and sculptor Yao Metsoko and peices of art of the Cameroonian painter Mary Sabal-Lecco will be open to the public at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 10 to 17 May 2011.
