Matt Di Angelo has discussed an upcoming plot for his character Dean Wicks, adding that he is glad to have the opportunity to tell such an important story. It was recently reported that Dean would rape Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) later this year in a hard-hitting storyline. Di Angelo previously expressed reservations over the direction of his character, which led him to vocalise his feelings with the shows boss. Speaking to Inside Soap, Di Angelo said: My initial response was that I didnt want to do it. I was pretty scared because its challenging and some of the most intense work I have ever done. But it is an important story to tell, and I am glad to have the opportunity to tell it. He continued: There is a lot of drama coming up for Dean and the Carters. Its a hard-hitting story that is going to change the family forever. Viewers definitely wont be expecting what is to come. Discussing Deans intense crush on Linda, Di Angelo said: He has genuine feelings and is falling in love with her. I think it is the Carter family unit that he is actually in awe of, more than the woman herself. Dean sees Mick with the Vic, and a wife and kids who love him, and Dean wants some of that happiness. #Eastenders
