May 16th morning thoughts - Booking jobs with famous names was never, ever something I woke up excited about. It was always something for the ego, something for my parents, or to prove to myself successful to my community or the person next to me on the plane. But it was never something that made me enthralled or in love. And the few decent industry jobs Ive had I walked away feeling like... Thats it? I know there are people that do get excited for it, who truly feel for it, and desire those things from a pure place but thats honestly just not me. What I love is the teaching and the sharing. Perhaps one day there would be an industry position that involves both, but Im no longer interested in wanting those things just because others do, because Im supposed to, or because I need it to book a teaching job. On a side note, these studios are booking teachers based on their choreography resume. What on earth does that have to do with one another? Then these students are, of course, confused and we blame them for not understanding culture. Chicken or the egg? More on that another day. I just love teaching. My family is a group of teachers. Im proud to be a teacher, a speaker, a thinker. God called me to do this. Sending love to everyone! Have a beautiful day. Be alive!!
