May God forgive Baba Saraki....Preserve Gbemi for us RAMADAN: Kwara Less Privileged ‘Miss’ late Saraki’s ‘legendary generosity’ ====================== Residents of ‘Koro Afoju’ area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, have disclosed that they have missed the legendary generosity of the late strongman of Ilorin politics, Sen. Olusola Saraki. Koro Afoju is a suburb in Gambari area of Ilorin, populated almost exclusively by the blind, the lepers and other downtrodden, popularly known as the ‘Al-Majiri’. The leader of the group, Seriki Mafaki, Alhaji Mohammed Sanni, said that annually, late Saraki used to reach out to them with load of food items and other consumables during Ramadan and other festive period. Alhaji Mohammed stated this when a former Senator and first daughter of late Saraki, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, presented several food items to members of his group as part of her reach-out to the privileged in Kwara State during the Ramadan period. He said Gbemi’s gesture was a continuation of her late father’s legendary generosity in his lifetime. He however enjoyed other politicians and the rich to reach out to the needy during and after the Ramadan period. E-kwara recalls that the senator had recently made similar donation to party leaders and members across the sixteen Local Government Areas of the state. The PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Rex Olawoye, had yesterday thanked all PDP leaders who donated items to members of the party during the Ramadan. He said Gbemi Saraki donated a truckload of rice to the party, which had since been distributed to members across the wards in the state.
