If its only once in your life you get to try them, I definitely recommend it. Founder Ruth Fertel took a modest steak house, and turned it into the worlds largest fine-dining company. They still operate with the same principles that Ruth started years ago. They are well known for their steaks, but dont be afraid to try the other parts of the menu out. They offer a Market Fresh Seafood selection, a chef inspired dish. The holidays are right around the corner, take that someone special out for a great night, you wont be disapointed!! Atlantic Salmon: The Atlantic salmon is the only salmon native to the Atlantic Ocean. There are three groups of wild Atlantic salmon: North American, European, and Baltic. The North American group, including the Canadian and U.S. populations, was historically found from northern Quebec southeast to Newfoundland and southwest to Long Island Sound. In the United States, Atlantic salmon once were native to almost every river north of the Hudson River. Atlantic salmon are anadromous in that they leave the ocean to ascend freshwater streams and rivers to breed. After hatching, young Atlantic salmon, or parr, remain in rivers or streams for the first 1-2 years of life. They spend the first year of life in shallow water with moderate to fast water flow and adequate cover. Parr are very territorial and move into habitat with larger substrate as they grow. These areas tend to have deeper, faster flowing water than their nursery habitat. Farmed salmon tend to have high levels of healthy fat (omega-3s) in them, which makes them a very healthy fish to consume. Both U.S. hatchery-raised and wild-caught Pacific salmon and farmed Atlantic salmon are sustainable options for consumers to purchase.
