MeP - MaP: #sciatica. #ChineseMedicine #classicalChineseMedicine #YellowEmperorsInnerClassic #research #stretches #strengthening #YinStyleBagua #CircleWalking Something like 5 weeks now. Prior to todays acu-session, I had a huge break through this morning. Its been a constant working, stretching, strengthening, twisting and a whole lotta breathing. A certain exercise I had to do, prescribed by the acupuncturist, usually hurts, but releaves the tension so much, to eventually hurt less. This morning, after my revised routine with some fine muscle exercise, it felt fantasticand all freed-up. YouTube will be in comment below. Circle walked yesterday for 30 mins: - pushing outwards, lifting upwards, gathering inwards, - I think I finally get it: switching different muscles groups, as I have certain tendencies which were highlighted by the AShi work on the recent seminar for CM external injury, - constant adjustment of body alignment, as I tend to lean back too much, which is a cause for the iliopsoas spasm. Even with normal walking, standing, I seem to have this tendency. A eureka-moment when reflecting upon what else is over working these muscles on a daily basis, cos i seem to be able to survive intensive training. After the session, I felt so fantastic, like the initial treatment I received from him, before I re-aggravated it badly within a week, cos I felt so much better movement - LESSON LEARNED. The needling was heavy as usual, squealing and my usual bed-thumping as, and breaking out into cold sweats. But this time afterwards, my body didnt feel heavy. I felt springy and light. I dropped by BMA Society class, to say hello and helped a little, and felt the weakness, the little twinging - backed off! Plus, I could finally sit down on the tube - fricking hallelujah! We discussed research in the CM domain, as I still have interest, as much as discovery: - too much is taking a biomedical approach, which could never denote the true efficacy of CM; - a lot of money is being wasted. which has not silenced the doubters; - as discussed before, to truly know classical CM, is to truly practice medicine, on par with aspects of biomedical sciences. Not, as discussed with a practicing acu-friend, to use CM to only be able to treat middle-class psychology issues like depression and anxiety. Not to say that theres no value in it! I was warned, before starting studying about being able to discern the knowledge I was given, as much as discern my initial apprenticeship with dearest Dr Lulu. Well, I soon discovered her substance. If we want the knowledge, a certain aptitude is required, discernability of when carrots are being dangled, or even when a carrots being dangled in front of the danlger. - read the classics: one cannot go wrong, cos the foundation is there; - study, study, and more studying: this is medicine. Peoples lives are at stake. - practice, practice, practice: we gotta refine our skills. Go beyond the vocation. As discussing with a CM friend and discussing those who have the capacity to deal with cancer patients, didnt fair well cos they didnt internally cultivate, build up their own immune system, lead an appropriate lifestyle - walk the walk. - studying: we can study hard, or we can study wise. There is a method to studying, understanding our cognitive capacity. It has to be learnt, practiced and refine. I take to heart what was said of Dr Xies comment and my grand master He Jinbao: - Xie: what kind of half-arsed Dr treats a patient that cannot heal themself. - grand master: I aint gonna see u for treatment, if u cant even sort out your oral-ulcers. Walking the walk. _/\_ And on dat note.....
