Meanwhile today SCOTUS decided that steel workers dont get paid - TopicsExpress

Meanwhile today SCOTUS decided that steel workers dont get paid for the time it takes to put on the job required safety equipment. Seems a small thing. As an HR manager take ut from me what it means is more time at work less pay. And the effects will reach far beyond just steel workers and far beyond garbing to other work related activities. Between SCOTUS and the RNC (like Eric Cantors bill allowing employers to decide whether they want to pay overtime or just give comp time off someday down the road maybe) the average hourly worker is being under cut at every turn. President Obama cant stop the assault all alone but he is trying. In his state of the union he conveyed objectives and actions to get there. Words are important especially when they actually lay out a set of objectives and actions to be taken to achieve them. Lots of supposedly smart people sit on the sidelines or even worse disparage the few who fight for their best interest. As Forest Gump said (if not he would have) smart is as smart does. Ha ha ha.
