Meeting with His Excellency Re: Construction on the Golconda to Point Fortin Highway As you are aware, at 11:45 am this morning I met with His Excellency Anthony TA Carmona for approximately two hours to discuss the matter surrounding the construction of the highway between Debe and Mon Desir. I was accompanied to this meeting by two founding members of Citizens 4D Highway, Ms. Mohanie Ramnarine and Ms. Usha Rampersad. Ms. Rampersad is also the Principal of the Debe Hindu Primary School. From our groups perspective, this meeting was highly successful as we were allowed the opportunity to present evidence to His Excellency that suggests the benefits of this portion of the highway. We were also allowed the opportunity to respond to some of the allegations being made by the HRM regarding both the environmental issues and the Banwari site, and conferred facts to His Excellency that shows that any concerns regarding these issues were unwarranted. His Excellency then thanked us for for providing comprehensibility to these matters and presenting facts and opinions to him that should now allow him to confer upon the matter objectively.
