Mergers & Acquisitions Manager SP / SP Experienced Business Development The primary focus of the M&A Manager is to play a lead role in developing and implementing the inorganic growth strategy for Latin America. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of strategic thinking, technical skills and leadership presence. The individual will be part of the Business Development for Latin America, overseeing a pool of Associates and M&A Analyst. As an integral part of the Latin America Business Development/ Mergers & Acquisitions organization, his/her responsibilities include: •Assist in developing the inorganic growth strategy, working closely with the senior leaders of the Latin American Business Development organization as well as regional and global Oil & Gas and Mining businesses and leaders •Identify and analyze attractive adjacencies for inorganic growth •Lead cross functional teams in the execution of mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, alliances, joint ventures and dispositions •Help develop a robust pipeline of M&A targets •Specialize in all aspects of the local and regional industry; build strong ties to industry constituents including regulators, advisors, specialists, etc. •Lead due diligences and oversee deal modeling •Actively contribute to building the Latin America BD organization and shaping its direction The role requires close partnership and communication with most senior level business leaders. A strong team orientation is critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate will build consensus and alignment, and communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization •Engineering or Business degree with exceptional academic credentials •MBA •A minimum of 8 years of work experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Management Consulting, or Corporate Development •At least 6 years of recent experience in acquisition and merger activities with an emphasis on the Natural Resources industry •Strong analytical, strategic and financial acumen, the ideal candidate will have worked in progressively responsible roles in M&A and other deal-making activities in Brazil and internationally. •Knowledge of a variety of deal structuring options and their applicability •Strong executive presence and exceptional written and oral communication skills •It would be required to travel regionally and globally at least 50% of the time •Sound business judgment, critical thinking skills and analytical abilities that allow them to quickly assess situations and opportunities •A positive, outwardly energetic leadership style that leverages relationships and inspires confidence in others •Problem-solving abilities with the ability to anticipate potential issues and suggest creative alternatives to overcome barriers •A strong detail orientation, especially when analyzing, PRESENTING and defending financial models and assumptions •Motivates team members and peers with strong interpersonal and leadership skills •Demonstrated acceptance and adherence to high ethical, moral and personal values •Ability to inspire others to reach higher •Ability to work in a highly independent, unstructured, but intensely results-oriented environment
