Message from the Official RM Shop Dear RMA Member Happy Birthday! 350 years! That’s quite amazing and it’s been fantastic being a small part of that history! It’s been a long time since our last Gen Dit; and as well some amazing new products to announce, we’d also like to welcome Tim Healy to our team, to manage our website and logistics, as the demand grows daily. A special mention needs to go to our graphic designer and brand guardian. Pam has worked tirelessly for the shop over the past year, giving freely of her time. She also helps a number of other charities. Her service to the Royal Marines was noticed as she won the prestigious C Group Individual Achievement Award. She is the designer of, amongst many other items, our notelets, birthday and Christmas cards. I’m sure it’s not passed you by, but the Royal Marines have become the first UK Armed Force to have their own monopoly! The design was led by the RM 350 team, and we’ve had some fantastic feed-back. 5,000 were made and there’s only about 1,000 remaining, so if you want to secure your copy, I’d act fairly soon. Enormous thanks needs to go to the Plymouth and Exeter RMA Branches who helped to box and label most of the boards. Please also thank Jill, when you are next in touch, for her management of the delivery. It’s been a vast task, and whilst there are a couple of issues still to sort, over 99% of the boards pre-ordered are safely in your hands. The RM Shop has started a relationship with a leading UK clothing manufacture. So far, we have caps, T-shirts, caps and sports socks to offer. The quality is that of Abercrombie and Fitch or Fat Face, but with a vastly different price tag. The shop has also built a relationship with the Coffee Company that supply Harrods and Selfridges. A tasting panel decided on the mix which is now on sale as ‘Commando Coffee’. It gets some fantastic reviews. Chris Terril released some previously unseen footage on his Commando: On the front line DVD, and this is now available through the shop. Jill has used her contacts from working in Animal Rescue to a fantastic outcome. Teaming up with the top-dog bed producer in Europe, with our very own state-of-the-art graphics, we now have a Commando Canine, Hoofing Hound, fully washable dog bed. Before I sign off and let you get on with the Birthday celebrations, there are a very few 350 Limited Edition bottles of port left. Have a brilliant celebration.
