Michael Essien and his club AC Milan have both categorically denied reports that the player has contracted Ebola. Reports had surfaced in Africa over the weekend claiming midfielder had caught the virus. However, Essien was quick to dismiss the rumours in a tweet using the hashtag false news. Such reports, totally unfounded, have also never been confirmed by any members of our club. Reports emanating from Africa quoted Milans press spokesman Riccardo Coli confirming that Essien had indeed caught the virus. These were also carried via Twitter, leading to Essiens denial and threat to sue: The true victims of Ebola deserve better and our thoughts & prayers are with them and their families. Essien said he will be in training as usual from Monday, preparing for Milans trip to Hellas Verona on Sunday. Guys please stop asking if I have ebola. I do not have it. But I thank you for caring about my health and wellbeing :-)
