Microsoft Releases Grim Employee Diversity Numbers Today Monday, January 5, 2015 - Redmond, CA Over 75% male and 60% white..this is not news. To be expected. Only 2,098 black employees (or 3.44 percent) in Microsofts entire global workforce! It gets worse: Only 1.9 percent management and executive staff worldwide for Microsoft is black. Why diversity matters? Lack of diversity could prove to be an obstacle for Microsoft and other tech giants who don’t keep up, in a hyper-competitive market. There’s data to show diversity fuels innovation. As we kick off the new year, it’s imperative for well-established tech companies to push for diversity at all levels, but especially the top.
