Middle Tennessee CMA Cheryl Kiser-Vice President Knights For Christ #448 Columbia, TN So, my thoughts on Sundays visit... First, I loved that little church and their congregation was great. But I kept watching the little ones. The interpretive dances had me in tears along with Debby Neal. At first I felt a little sappy, but later I realized that I was watching small children worshipping God, and going to sleep that night in a bed that wasnt necessarily safe. We frequently see on the news where a bullet from a driveby shooting passes through a wall and strikes a child who is simply sleeping in their bed. I wondered if these beautiful children would live to see tomorrow, let alone make the choices that would give them a good life with a present God! The area they are growing up in has few positive role models, and unfortunatly you have to seek them out, as their not prevalent enough to watch on a daily basis. There just arent enough spiritually strong people to mentor them all. I pray that the parents will remain strong enough to downplay what they see in their neighborhoods and schools. I got to speak with both of the parents of the boy who was killed. I spoke to him at the church and her at Monettes. They are strong, trusting in the Lord, and determined to make a difference! It was such an honor to meet them. I spoke to her as mother to mother of lost children. Mine didnt die from violence, but she was no stranger to it. Lucky for mine, she had a strong foundation. I left hopeful that with the medias attention, the local parents will step up and lead these children to a different and better path. They are such beautiful little souls, and so open to suggestion! I soaked up their joy from the rides like a sponge! They truly brightened my day and gave me some hope for the future of this community. Have a blessed day! Cheryl Kiser
