Minutes from the Twin Valley High School Class of 1974 reunion planning committee hangout on Sunday, Oct. 5: 1) The hangout was attended by Chuck Curley, Becky Loughin, Nate Saint, Terre Allison, Joy Lincoln, David Shucavage and, for the first time, Dave Fidler. 2) The deadline of Oct. 1 has passed for alumni to register for the formal event, though other Class of 1974 alumni are welcome to arrive after dinner at Emilys to join the celebration. 3) Joy said a group of Class of 1974 alumni who arrive in town byFriday, Oct. 17, is welcome to meet with Joy at 6 p.m. that day at the Heritage Restaurant, Route 10, Morgantown, 3) Joy said 89 people, including spouses, significant others and relatives of alumni, are scheduled to appear for the event. The total includes two teachers, Carl Horner and Larry Everhart, who have been invited at the class expense. 4) A down payment of $2,000 has been paid to Emilys with the balance, which has been raised, due on the night of the event. 5) Several committee members have said they will show up at Emilys early to decorate the deck, where the group will gather, and to mount a banner prepared by Dave Fidler on the restaurant to welcome guests. In addition, the group discussed a mention of the class members who are deceased and Dave Fidler offered to design a banner in their memory to mount at the venue. Seven names -- Jim Phenniger, James Morton, Ernest Angelo, Bruce Hess, Sharon Ruhl, Debbie Lush and Kathy Mountz -- were mentioned as deceased class members. If anyone knows of others or needs to correct the list, please message Terre Allison, Nate Saint or Dave Fidler. 6) Assignments at the event itself, such as guest registration, will be made among the committee members on the day of the event. That registration will include name tags and a color coded system which will tell Emilys servers which entrees are to be served to each person. 7) A collection of several hundred photos of the class Twin Valley years will be shown on a screen at the venue during the event. In addition, a program of announcements will be made after dinner and Rev. Klaudia (Brady) Smucker, a class member, will be asked to deliver the pre-meal prayer. 8) Surprise gifts for attending alumni, provided by David Fidler and David Shucavage, will be presented at the event. 9) Terre stressed the committees hope is to keep the event as simple as possible to allow people to enjoy each others company, to share memories and to allow friends to catch up with each others lives. 10) Any more hangouts will be arranged as issues arise, but none is planned at this time.
