Miss you Mom and Dad! Happy Birthday today Mom, August 24 and to you Dad on August 30. ♥ As some of us know, the loss of a parent or both parents cuts deep, but mothers shape most womens lives like no one else. Your Mother is always your North Star! While my mother lights my way, she also links me to the past with good memories, outings and pictures as we were growing up. (Not that I have many pictures as a middle child). Yet despite our cultures motherhood mystique, no rituals mark the psychological journey we daughters begin when our mothers die. My Mom is the one that cared for us thru thick and thin. She helped bring us into this world, nutured us as young children and teenagers while we were sick. She made food for all of us. Put clothing on our backs, while she is the one that shopped, cared for seven kids, and also foster kids, ran a Resort on the lake, worked as a Nurse and worked long hard hours. Much Love ♡ and respect for my Dad who was a Military Man. He also provided for us by working long and hard hours. He also took care of us kids, helped run the Resort, worked on city projects, Civil Defense Director, City Council, and also worked fulltime as a Foreman/Supervisor at Kato Engineering in Mankato, MN. Two amazing, beautiful and intelligent people that watched us grow and help shape us kids into the people we are today. When I see women and men my age chatting at lunch with their Mom, Dad or both parents, I wish them many more outings together. A gift of supporting each other and nuturing each other is part of our inheritance as women and men. My Mom was not only my Mom, but a friend that we could share stories, good times and bad. Miss calling my Mom and Dad on the phone, miss our outings, and our visits. Miss you Mom and Dad, but forever I hold you in my heart with love and respect for being such loving and devoted parents.
