Moment of reflexion and remembrance at the Embassy of Canada in Haiti #NouLaPouAyiti On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the earthquake of January 12, 2010 in Haiti, the staff of the Embassy of Canada in Port-au-Prince honoured the memory of the more than two hundred thousand people who were killed in the earthquake during a memorial ceremony held this Monday. Former locally engaged staff working at the Embassy during the earthquake were also present. Ambassador Paula Caldwell, as well as former Ambassador Gilles Rivard, paid tribute to employees who demonstrated professionalism and exceptional dedication during this period of intense crisis. A new commemorative statue was also unveiled and white balloons were released to honour the victims.
