More and more young people are walking Memorial Drive begging for money to buy food. Many are Muslim. One 14 year old boy approached me today. I asked why was he out begging for money for food. He told me his father had been deported and there was nothing in the house to eat. For those of you who may not be aware Stone Mountain/Clarkston has become a very densely populated area with Muslims primarily from Somali, Eritrea and Ethiopia. Some are refugees. I gave the boy my card and ask him to encourage his mother to call me. This is one reason why we need to support the Islamic Food Pantry. Your donations of rice, beans, pasta, canned milk, vegetables, fish, soup, sauces, hot and cold breakfast cereal are important. Young people who are hungry can be tempted very easily into crime.
