More thoughts on my previous post... Adolescence kind of sucks in many ways. The BF/GF is one of the good things about it. I genuinely liked all my girl friends and thus all my memories of them are pleasant. I did get my heart broken a couple times too and although it wasnt fun, it IS part of growing up. As far as the over protective urges, the question is Do I trust my daughter to do the right thing? Time to put up or shut up, huh? I have to admit that the although experience of growing up is often universal, the form it takes is fluid and adolescence is just not what it used to be. Social Media and the environs that Eva is growing up in is very different than it was thirty -odd years ago. We parents come to the realization that in many ways we cannot always keep our children safe from harm and it is a painful realization to come to.
