Read things carefully and you can see what the corporation is REALLY up to. Facebook announced theyre cutting back on the number of brand page posts in peoples in-boxes. These are the brands we chose to like, but when too many posts show up people dont like it. Yet Facebook says people dont mind paid posts. Right. So Facebook will decrease unpaid brand posts in your news feeds from the brands you select, but explicitly excludes paid posts. Looking carefully FB says This change will not increase the number of ads people see in their News Feeds, yet they are decreasing the number of unpaid ads. If they didnt INCREASE the number of paid ads then it could only DECREASE the number of ads, but thats not whats going to happen. Facebook is clearly saying we are eliminating posts from the brands you chose to like that dont pay us money, and we will add more paid ads to your feed from brands you did NOT choose to like just enough so that the total wont increase. Thanks for another lame policy change that gives me less control of what I see in FB and increases the number of ads I really dont want to see while making your site more money, FB. No real surprise here!
