Today, give a thought to this little chap, wildlifetrusts.org/species/field-vole Dont get all sentimental, because the fact is unless we get this chap thriving, we stand little chance of relaxing in the knowledge that our iconic Barn Owl has enough to survive. Without a hugely diverse diet, the Barn Owl does rely very heavily on good breeding of this little mammal, it represents primary food source. To thrive prolifically, it needs grasses and seeds, most commonly found in the rough grass areas that always used to edge farmland. It may not always look pretty, but it is a natural ecosystem that is vital... Just a thought
