Most misused gifts are tongues, interpretation and prophesy. Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. (I Corinthians 14:1-4 NKJV) Paul says to love, desire, and seek the gifts. God wants us to be used. When you pray in tongues, the devil doesnt know what youre saying. You can talk to God everyday. We can spend time with God everyday. We need to be refilled. If youre not refilled with the spirit, you will loose the fresh anointing. We need to walk in the anointing of the spirit. The more we walk with God, God will bless and there will be attacks. We are always in a spiritual warfare with Satan. We just need to pray. 1. Prophesy edifies the church more than uninterpreted tongues. 2. Prophesy and tongues with interpretation are equally important to the Church. 3. Speaking in tongues in a public worship without interpretation, it is no benefit to others but yourself. 4. Those who speak or pray in tongues in Church should seek to edify the Church by giving you interpretation. 5. In Pauls personal life, speaking in tongues is an important means of worship and spiritual growth. 6. Prophesy is more useful than interpreted tongues because prophesy brings the conviction of sin. How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. (I Corinthians 14:26-29 NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27 NKJV)
