Most modern teens and parents today would say that my mom was mean and abusive. When I was a child my mom used the board of education on the seat of understanding when i miss behaved. Like when I disrespected my teachers, my school bus driver, or an elderly person. She taught me not to swear, use foul language and four letter words, specially not the Lords name in vain or I would be grounded and have my mouth washed with soap. She taught me to open doors to the elderly people and help them when in need. She taught me to say please and thank you when someone gave me something.She taught beginning at 8 years old there was some chores to do at home before play and if we didnt do it it was in our room for the night. She taught me how to clean a house, wash and wax floors. She taught me how to cook and bake. She taught me how to do the dishes after supper and that without a dish washer or no playing outside for the rest of the night. If I did a good job my mom would give me 25 cents to go to the swimming pool or the movies to show me that hard work pays. O yes my mom was a mean mom but without my mean mom I wouldnt be the man I am today. This my friend is not being mean and abusive. Its called investing in a life,its disciplining in love, forming character, honesty and integrity in the life of a child so he can succeed in the future. There ar so many things my mom taught me that are to numerous to mention here. Thank you mom for being mean in a loving way! I love you for it. I lift my hat to the mom who dare do the same thing in this society of ours. Have a great day!
